MILWAUKEE (AP) -Manager Ned Yost's 2009 option was exercised Friday by the Milwaukee Brewers following their first winning season in 15 years.
The Brewers were 83-79 last year, finishing second in the NL Central. It was the first winning mark since going 92-70 in 1992.
The 53-year-old Yost, a former player for the Brewers, was hired as manager Oct. 29, 2002.
