TORONTO (AP) -Left-hander Brian Tallet and the Toronto Blue Jays agreed Thursday to a one-year contract worth $1,015,000 and avoided salary arbitration.
Tallet went 1-2 with a 2.88 ERA in a career-high 51 games last season, his third with Toronto. Drafted by Cleveland in 2000, Tallet has a 7-8 record in 152 games, including six starts.
After making $640,000 last year, Tallet asked last month for $1.3 million in arbitration and was offered $950,000.
Right-hander Shawn Camp is the only Blue Jays player still in arbitration. The Blue Jays have not gone to a hearing since right-hander Bill Risley in 1997.
