NEW YORK (AP) – Reliever Jenrry Mejia and the New York Mets have reached agreement on a one-year contract and avoided salary arbitration.
The Mets announced the deal Wednesday.
Mejia, who made $509,675 last year, asked for $3 million and the team offered $2.1 million.
The right-hander went 6-6 with 28 saves and a 3.65 ERA in 63 games last season.
First baseman Lucas Duda is the last Mets player left in arbitration.
