PHOENIX (AP) -The Arizona Diamondbacks and right-hander Juan Cruz avoided arbitration, agreeing Wednesday to a $1,937,500, one-year contract.
The 29-year-old Cruz went 6-1 with a 3.10 ERA for the NL West champions last year. He is 25-31 with a 4.16 ERA in a seven-year career with the Chicago Cubs, Atlanta, Oakland and Arizona.
