MILWAUKEE (AP) -The Brewers have invited outfielder Laynce Nix and right-handed pitcher Stephen Bray as nonroster players to the team’s major league spring training camp.
General manager Doug Melvin added the two 27-year-old players Thursday to four others invited earlier. They are right-handed pitchers Scott Cassidy and Mark DiFelice, left-hander Chris Narveson and infielder Ozzie Chavez.
Nix spent most of last season with the Brewers’ Triple A farm club at Nashville. Bray was there all season.
Nix hit .268 at Nashville, with 24 home runs and 74 runs batted in 95 games. He was called up by the Brewers in September and appeared in 10 games.
Bray had a 5-2 record with a 1.62 ERA and one save in 42 appearances at Nashville.
