ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -The Texas Rangers added Milton Bradley to their 40-man roster Wednesday, three weeks after the free agent passed a physical and the team announced a one-year deal.
There was no need for a corresponding move since the Rangers had an open roster spot.
Bradley got a base salary of $5.25 million and can earn an additional $2.75 million in performance bonuses. He is coming off knee surgery that followed an injury sustained Sept. 23 when he was spun to the ground by San Diego manager Bud Black. Bradley was trying to get at umpire Mike Winters,
When the Rangers finalize their two-year contract with Japanese pitcher Kazuo Fukumori, they will have to create a roster spot. Fukumori was introduced as the team’s new reliever Dec. 14, but details of the $3 million deal still have not be finalized.
