Maddux Takes Mound

At age 41, San Diego Padres right-hander Greg Maddux rarely pitches complete games anymore. The future Hall of Famer, however, has never thrown anything but against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Having posted three complete-game victories in as many starts against the Rays (28-33), Maddux looks to help the Padres (36-26) bounce back from a weekend sweep when he matches up with Scott Kazmir and Tampa Bay at Tropicana Field on Tuesday.

The Houston Astros don't have to travel too far for their next game.

The Astros will change leagues and venues, but won't have to leave Chicago in order to make up a postponed game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field on Monday.

Houston (26-36) took two of three over the weekend against the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field, losing Sunday's finale 6-3 after starter Wandy Rodriguez allowed seven hits and five runs in five innings.

Dodgers Seek Revenge

The Los Angeles Dodgers would no doubt like to forget their last series against the New York Mets.

The two teams meet for the first time since last season's National League division series in the opener of a three-game set Monday at Dodger Stadium.

The Mets (36-25) swept that best-of-five series, outscoring the Dodgers 19-11. New York lost in seven games to eventual World Series champion St. Louis in the NL championship series.
