Kershaw tries to keep visitors’ run going
The Cubs seized a 3-2 edge in the NLCS by winning Games 4 and 5 in Los Angeles. Will Clayton Kershaw be able to save the Dodgers’ season – again – tonight?
Dave Roberts will watch his ace stride to the Wrigley Field mound at roughly 8:08 p.m. ET. Online sports book Bovada.lv gives the powerhouse lefty odds of -128 to extend series. Conversely, Chicago represents a +118 underdog. The over/under run total rests at 6.5.
After throwing three times in six days, Kershaw will actually have an additional 24 hours of rest on this occasion. Considering the Cubbies’ offensive resurgence, he’ll need every bit of it. Joe Maddon’s gang exploded for 18 runs and 26 hits in the past two contests. Individually, shortstop Addison Russell blasted two-run homers in each tilt to bust out of a 1-for-25 funk.
Of course, Kershaw’s handled said collection of batsmen quite well during the regular season. The perennial All-Star boasts a 5-3 record with a 2.18 ERA against the Cubs in eight career outings. He also muzzled them just last weekend, firing seven scoreless frames and allowing but two base knocks.

On the other side, Kyle Hendricks hopes to venture well beyond five-plus frames here. That’s when the sinkerballer, despite compiling largely impressive results, departed his most recent duel with No. 22. Hendricks owns a 2-1 mark with a 0.70 WHIP in three appearances vs. the Boys in Blue.
The Dodgers wouldn’t want any other arrangement with their backs against the wall. Irrespective of Chicago’s silly production of late, Kershaw’s stuff looks filthier than ever. Prepare for a do-or-die tilt tomorrow.
