Chacin, bullpen stellar in win
Jhoulys Chacin threw 5 1/3 innings of shutout baseball Monday night in a 4-0 win at Los Angeles in Game 2 of the NLCS. He allowed three hits while striking out six and walking two before giving way to a bullpen that also did not allow a run. Christian Yelich finished 1-for-3 with a walk and a run in the victory. Ryan Braun was 1-for-4 with an RBI double. Erik Kratz went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run. Orlando Arcia ended the game 1-for-4 with a 2-run home run.
Dodgers held to five hits
Manny Machado finished 2-for-3 with a double and a walk in the Dodgers’ defeat in Game 2. Yasiel Puig was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. Walker Buehler suffered the loss as he surrendered four earned runs on five hits with eight strikeouts and a walk over seven innings.
Gio Gonzalez (10-11, 4.21 ERA) will start tonight for the Brewers, while LA counters with Rich Hill (11-5, 3.66).
MLB Betting Trends
Milwaukee
The Brewers are 14-3 in their last 17 road games. Milwaukee is 35-16 in its last 51 games overall.
Los Angeles
The under is 6-2-1 in the last nine Dodgers playoff games. Los Angeles is 8-3 in its last 11 games overall.
Prediction:
The Brewers continue to roll along, but I see this series quite possibly going seven games. Hill is the better of the two starting pitchers here and Gonzalez is due for a poor start. I can’t imagine him fooling Dodgers bats that saw him not so long ago in Game 1. Go with the Dodgers here to even the series at 2-2.
