The Red Sox took a 2-1 lead in the series on Tuesday as they picked up a 1-0 win over Detroit. John Lackey pitched 6.2 scoreless innings, allowing just four hits with eight strikeouts for Boston. Justin Verlander allowed the home run, but it was his lone mistake, as he pitched eight innings, allowing just four hits and one run with 10 strikeouts.
