Thursday's MLB Playoff Odds


(TheSpread) – Major League Baseball has a full set of four playoff games taking place on Thursday. Here is a look at the odds and pitching matchups for each game.

In the American League, the featured game has the Oakland Athletics hosting the Detroit Tigers for a decisive Game 5 at 9:35PM ET (View Matchup). The Tigers have Justin Verlander on the mound to face Jarrod Parker of the Athletics. According to oddsmakers at, the Tigers are the favorite on the road, as they have odds of -140 to win, while the A’s have a money line of +130. The over/under total for the game has not been set as of yet. The Tigers are 90-76 overall and 48-45 on the road while the A’s are 96-70 overall and 52-31 at home. The home team has won all four games in this series, but the Tigers won Game 1 with this same pitching matchup.

In the National League, the featured game has the decisive Game 5 with the Cincinnati Reds hosting the San Francisco Giants at 1:05PM ET (View Matchup). The Giants have Matt Cain on the mound to face Mat Latos of the Reds. According to oddsmakers, the Reds are favored to win this game, as they have odds of -125 to win, while the Giants have a money line of +115. The over/under for the game has been set at 7 runs. San Francisco is 96-70 overall this year and 48-35 on the road while the Reds are 99-67 overall and 50-33 at home. The road team has won all four games in this series but the Reds won Game 1 with this pitching matchup.
