D-backs’ Greinke takes ball against Giants
The Giants are 28-9 on the road vs. the Diamondbacks since 2013. Does Zack Greinke have any hope of slowing down Bruce Bochy’s machine today?
Oddsmakers seem to think so. Online sports book BetDSI prefers Arizona, while San Francisco enters Chase Field as a +104 underdog. The over/under run total rests at nine.
Last night’s meeting between the two division rivals played out in a very familiar fashion, as the Giants secured an 11-3 triumph. Every Giants starter, including hurler Johnny Cueto, picked up a hit. Outfielder Hunter Pence led the charge with three base knocks, lifting his average to .389 since Sept. 1.
Greinke gets the task of attempting to hold down those bats shortly. Entering the season, the righty had a 7-0 record vs. San Francisco. He suffered a 4-2 setback on May 12, however, and now carries a 2.35 ERA in 13 career encounters with the NL West powerhouse.

Meanwhile, Bochy asks Matt Moore to deliver his 10th win of the campaign. The lefty’s been up and down since his trade-deadline arrival from Tampa Bay, going 2-4 with a 1.34 WHIP. Most recently, Colorado tagged him for six runs in 2 2/3 innings.
We simply can’t ignore Greinke’s track record against the Giants. Look for him to keep the score down and potentially let the D-backs improve to 26-45 at home.
