Nats shock Mets with seven in ninth
Washington scored seven runs in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday night to stun visiting New York by a count of 11-10. Kurt Suzuki won it with a walk-off three-run home run. Suzuki finished the night 2-for-5 with the homer and four RBIs. Juan Soto paced the Nationals offense as he went 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored and three RBIs. Asdrubal Cabrera was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs. Trea Turner ended the game 2-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, a run scored and an RBI. Anthony Rendon went 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. Javy Guerra picked up the win in relief as he retired the only batter he faced. MLB Betting Trends
New York
The Mets are 5-2 in their last seven road games. New York is 5-2 in the last seven Wheeler starts.
Washington
The Nationals are 5-1 in their last six home games. Washington is 4-1 in the last five Sanchez home starts.
Prediction:
Washington took advantage of an awful Mets bullpen situation last night and should have a similar situation today with the Mets being fatigued in the bullpen. Plus, even the guys New York is supposed to be able to trust like Diaz are often the biggest culprits in the pen. Sanchez is having a reasonably good season and with the Nats being at home plus the Mets being shellshocked after yesterday, I think Washington is the right play again this afternoon.
