The Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers both look to inch closer to the playoffs when they meet up tonight at 8:15PM ET.
The Tigers have Anibal Sanchez on the mound to face Danny Duffy of the Royals. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, KC is favored at home, as the Royals are getting odds of -140 to win. Detroit has been given a money line of +130 to prevail on the road. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 8 runs.

Detroit is 72-61 on the season, 33-33 on the road and 65-62-6 with the over. Kansas City is 69-64 overall, 41-23 at home and 69-56-8 with the under. The Royals have won the last three meetings with the Tigers and seven of the last nine in this series. These two have also pushed or hit the under in six of their last seven encounters.
Anibal Sanchez was a dumpster fire early in the season, but he has gotten back to being somewhat of a reliable arm for the Tigers. In his last eight starts, seven has seen him go six innings or more and five have seen him hold opponents to 3 runs or less. Duffy has been a good pitcher this year, but is coming off a rough outing at Boston where he game up 7 runs in five innings. Look for him to bounce back against the Tigers, whom he held to 1 run over 7.2 innings back on Aug. 16. While Sanchez may keep it competitive, the Royals are more likely to get to him than the Tigers to Duffy. Go with KC at home tonight.
