It’s hard to get much better matchups in the AL than Sale vs. Verlander. Both are having great years and are coming off strong outings. Verlander has a 2.61 ERA in his last three starts while Sale has a 3.04 ERA in his last three outings. Sale met the Tigers back on Aug. 3 and suffered a 2-1 loss as he couldn’t get the run support. That could certainly happen again today. Verlander hasn’t given up more than two earned runs in nine of his last 10 starts. He should be able to have another good outing today to best Sale.
