Rangers falter late
Texas fell by a count of 5-2 Tuesday night at Los Angeles to drop to 64-69 overall and 26-42 on the road. Danny Santana helped lead the Rangers offense as he finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Shin-Soo Choo ended the game 2-for-4 with an RBI. Delino DeShields was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Mike Minor suffered the loss as he gave up four earned runs on four hits with four strikeouts and three walks over 6 2/3 innings. Emmanuel Clase gets the start tonight for Texas as he enters with a 1-2 record, 4.35 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with nine strikeouts over 10 1/3 innings.
Angels rally in seventh
Los Angeles scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday night to snap a five-game losing streak with a 5-2 home win over Texas. Kole Calhoun ended the game 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs. Mike Trout finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Brian Goodwin went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit two-run single. Miguel Del Pozo picked up the win in relief as he struck out the only batter he faced. Hansel Robles pitched a perfect ninth inning for his 19th save. Patrick Sandoval gets the start tonight for the Angels as he comes in with an 0-1 record, 6.75 ERA and 1.67 WHIP with 18 strikeouts over 17 1/3 innings pitched.
MLB Betting Trends
Texas
The Rangers are 8-21 in their last 29 road games. Texas is 0-6 in its last six games in game two of a series.
Los Angeles
The Angels are 5-1 in their last six home games. Los Angeles is 1-6 in its last seven games in game two of a series.
Prediction:
Texas has struggled on the road all season, but Los Angeles has struggled much of the last month and one win doesn’t feel like it should make it this big of a favorite. I’m going to take a shot on Clase and the rest of the bullpen being effective enough while getting run support against a shaky Sandoval to pave the win to a win.
