Tampa Bay Rays Fantasy Spin
Eric Sogard launched a solo homer to propel the Rays to a 1-0 victory over the Mariners on Sunday. Sogard tattooed a solo shot — his 13th round-tripper of the season to right field off Mariners lefty Wade LeBlanc in the fourth inning. It was his third long ball in 10 games since being acquired by Tampa Bay in the days leading up to last month’s major-league trade deadline. He owns a .307/.371/.503 triple-slash line with 52 runs scored, 37 RBI and eight stolen bases in 356 plate appearances. He’s been an incredibly valuable fantasy contributor in deeper mixed leagues this season.
San Diego Padres Fantasy Spin
Francisco Mejia went 3-for-4 with a solo homer in the Padres’ loss to the Rockies on Sunday. Mejia blasted a solo homer — his sixth round-tripper of the season — off Rockies starter German Marquez in the second inning. He also singled in the seventh and doubled in the ninth to record his third three-hit effort of the season. The 23-year-old backstop possesses immense fantasy upside, but he hasn’t put it all together at the major-league level just yet.
MLB Betting Trends

Prediction:
The Rays are a perfect 7-0 in their last seven games versus the Padres and have won seven straight on the road as well. They’re 10-2 in their last 12 games overall, 7-2 in their last nine games off a win and have won 11 of Castillo’s last 13 starts. The Padres, meanwhile, are winless in Lucchesis’s last five starts, have dropped 11 of their last 16 games at Petco Park and are just 3-8 in Game 1 of a series.
The Pick: Tampa Bay Rays +120
