New York Yankees Fantasy Spin
Mike Tauchman went 3-for-4 with two homers Monday in the Yankees’ 9-6 victory over the Orioles. The Yankees hit five homers in all, which probably should have been the over/under on a night in which they were facing Gabriel Ynoa and company. Tauchman’s blasts came off Branden Kline and Paul Fry. That makes nine homers in 170 at-bats for him this year. He should be more solid than spectacular going forward, but given the baseball, his home park and the occasional opportunity to face whatever it is that the Orioles consider pitching, he’ll probably remain a fantasy asset for as long as he gets to play regularly.
Baltimore Orioles Fantasy Spin
Jonathan Villar hit for the cycle in a 9-6 loss to the Yankees on Monday. Villar came up in the ninth needing a single against Aroldis Chapman to complete the feat and pulled it off. He has 15 homers, three triples and 24 doubles this year. He’s totaled 23 homers and 45 steals in 166 games with the Orioles since he was picked up from the Brewers last summer.
MLB Betting Trends
New York
The Yankees are 11-2 in their last 13 games when playing the second game of a series.
Baltimore
The Orioles are just 13-53 in their last 66 home games when facing an opponent that has a winning record on the road.
Prediction:
The over is now 40-10-1 in the last 51 meetings between these two teams and is 21-5-1 in the last 27 meetings in Baltimore. The over is also now 13-3 in the Yankees’ last 16 games overall and 8-1 in their last nine games when facing a right-handed starter. On the other side, the over is 12-4-1 in the Orioles’ last 17 home games when facing an opponent with a winning road record and is 7-3-1 in their last 11 games overall.
The Pick: Yankees/Orioles OVER 11
