Blue Jays secure another win
Toronto picked up a 5-2 victory Friday night at Baltimore to improve to 45-67 overall and 25-33 on the road. Freddy Galvis helped pace the Blue Jays offense as he ended the contest 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs. Brandon Drury went 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. finished 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI. Nick Kingham picked up the win in relief as he gave up two hits with two strikeouts and one walk over three scoreless innings. Thomas Pannone draws the start today for Toronto as he enters with a 2-4 record, 5.98 ERA and 1.43 WHIP with 47 strikeouts over 49 2/3 innings pitched.
Davis homers in defeat
Baltimore lost by a score of 5-2 at home Friday night to drop to 36-73 overall and 15-38 at home. Chris Davis provided the offense as he finished 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk and two RBIs. Anthony Santander went 2-for-3 plus a walk. Richie Martin was also 2-for-3. Aaron Brooks took the loss as he surrendered three earned runs on five hits over five innings, striking out four and walking three. Dylan Bundy will start tonight as he comes in with a 5-11 record, 5.24 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with 105 strikeouts over 103 innings.
MLB Betting Trends
Toronto
The Blue Jays are 5-1 in their last six Saturday games. Toronto is 4-0 in its last four games versus a right-handed starter.
Baltimore
The Orioles are 87-207 in their last 294 games overall. Baltimore is 15-39 in the last 54 Bundy starts.
Prediction:
Betting on Baltimore is difficult, but it was playing pretty well on the West Coast before returning home. Bundy was good in his last start and while he is inconsistent, the strikeout rate is always there and he is fully capable of pitching into the sixth or seventh inning. I expect the O’s to get more offense going today against Pannone and I think it’ll be enough to carry the hosts to a win.
