Astros remain strong
Houston continues to play well, winning eight of its last 10 after a series win in St. Louis this weekend. The Astros are 68-39 overall, 30-24 on the road and 57-45 with the under. Justin Verlander is getting the start for Houston today. He is 13-4 on the season with a 2.86 ERA.
The Astros have a great balance of hitting and pitching, as they rank in the top five in the league in team ERA (3.77), team WHIP (1.14), strikeouts (1,084), team batting average (.270), home runs (175) and team OPS (.823). They also put up 5.23 runs per game. Yuli Gurriel is leading the team with 26 doubles, 20 home runs and 65 RBI while Alex Bregman has 16 doubles, 26 home runs and 63 RBI.
Indians end win streak
Cleveland had its four-game win streak come to an end on Sunday in a 9-6 loss at Kansas City. The Tribe are 62-43 overall, 32-21 at home and 56-46 with the under. The Tribe have Shane Bieber getting the start this evening. He is 10-3 on the season with a 3.44 ERA.
The Indians have had pitching as their strength this year, as they have a 3.77 team ERA and a 1.20 team WHIP. Their offense has slowly been improving, but still ranks in the bottom half of the league. Cleveland averages 4.66 runs per contest while batting .250. Carlos Santana is leading the team with 21 doubles, 22 home runs and 57 RBI while Jose Ramirez has 23 doubles, 14 home runs, 55 RBI and 22 stolen bases.
MLB Betting Trends
Houston
The Astros are 9-2 in their last 11 games against a winning team and 22-8 in their last 30 Tuesday games.
Cleveland
The Indians are 7-1 in their last eight home games and 8-2 in their last 10 games following an off day.
Prediction:
Bieber is coming off a complete game shutout of the Blue Jays and he has been locked in for the last month, as the Tribe has won his last five starts. Verlander is locked in as well, with Houston winning five of his last six outings. The difference here is hitting. Houston has the stronger lineup. While Cleveland is improving at the plate, Houston is still far superior. With the two bullpens being able to match each other, it is the Astros hitting that should make the difference today.
MLB Prediction: Houston Astros -135
