Indians grab another
Cleveland has won four straight and the first three in this series with a 9-1 victory on Saturday night against the Royals. The Indians are 62-42 on the season, 30-21 on the road and 57-44 with the under. Trevor Bauer gets the start for the Indians this evening. He is 9-7 on the season with a 3.49 ERA.
The Tribe started fast on Saturday and didn’t look back, scoring four runs in the opening inning. They had three home runs in the game with Francisco Lindor hitting his 18th, Jose Ramirez hitting his 13th and Jason Kipnis hitting his eighth. Kipnis’ home run was a grand slam while Ramirez drove in three. Mike Clevinger had another solid start to move to 5-2 on the year. He threw seven innings and allowed one run on eight hits with seven strikeouts.
Royals back in a funk
Kansas City has lost all three games in the series, with the margin of victory growing from 1 to 5 to 8 over the three days. KC is 39-67 on the season, 22-32 at home and 51-49 with the over. The Royals have Danny Duffy getting the start tonight. He is 4-5 on the season with a 4.32 ERA.
Glenn Sparkman got lit up in his start on Saturday. He gave up eight runs over five innings to fall to 3-7 on the year. The Royals actually had eight hits despite scoring the lone run. Alex Gordon and Cheslor Cuthbert each had two hits to lead the team while Whit Merrifield drove in the lone KC run.
MLB Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Indians have won six straight Sunday games and 11 of their last 12 road games.
Kansas City
The Royals are 9-26 in their last 35 Sunday games and 7-15 in Duffy’s last 22 home starts.
Prediction:
The Indians have dominated the Royals all season and are getting stronger with each game in this weekend series. Today, Bauer is on the mound and coming off 7.2 scoreless innings in his last start. Duffy hasn’t been terrible, but is steadily giving up multiple runs in most of his starts. Cleveland has been able to hit the KC pitching throughout the weekend while the Royals have struggled to touch up the Cleveland bullpen. I think the Tribe will continue to roll along over the Royals tonight.
MLB Prediction: Cleveland Indians -175
