Tigers vs. White Sox Prediction
Will the Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers end their offensive struggles when they meet tonight at 8:10PM ET?
The Tigers have Mike Pelfrey on the mound to face James Shields of the White Sox. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Chicago is a slight home favorite. The Sox are getting odds of -120 to win, while the Tigers are getting a money line of +110 to prevail. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 10.5 runs.
Chicago is 46-48 on the season, 24-22 at home and 48-42-4 with the under. Detroit is 49-46 overall, 23-27 on the road and 50-41-4 with the over. These two have met six times this season and Detroit has won four of the six meetings, but the home team is 5-1. These two have hit the under in four of the six meetings.

Neither team is coming into this series playing very well. The Sox have lost six of their last seven, scoring just 15 runs in those six games. Detroit is just 3-4 in its last seven, scoring only 17 runs in those seven games. The pitching matchup seems like it should lead to a lot of runs, but with both lineups struggling, I think the under is the solid play. Shields has actually been pretty strong in his last three outings, putting up a 0.88 WHIP and 2.08 ERA. Two of Pelfrey’s last three starts have seen him go six innings while allowing just one run.
