The featured game of the day could be an NLCS preview as the Washington Nationals (48-39) host the Los Angeles Dodgers (51-39) at 7:05PM ET. The Dodgers have Clayton Kershaw (6-6, 2.85 ERA) on the mound to face Jordan Zimmermann (8-5, 3.22). According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, this game is currently even, as each team is getting odds of -105 to win, while the over/under total has been set at just 6 runs. These two have yet to meet this season. The Nationals have won 9 of their last 11 home games and the Dodgers have hit the under in 11 of their last 14 on the road.
Another featured game today also comes in the NL, as the St. Louis Cardinals (56-33) host the New York Mets (47-42) at 8:15PM ET. The Cardinals send Lance Lynn (6-5, 2.90) to the mound to face Noah Syndergaard (4-4, 3.11) of the Mets. Oddsmakers like the Cardinals at home, as they are getting odds of -140 to win, while the Mets are getting a money line of +130. The over/under total for the game has been set at 7 runs. These two split a four-game series earlier in the season. The Cardinals come in 46-14 in their last 60 home games while the Mets have hit the under in 8 of their last 10 on the road. These two have also hit the under in 12 of their last 16 meetings.
In the American League, a pair of .500 teams meet as the Detroit Tigers (44-44) host the Baltimore Orioles (44-44) at 7:08PM ET. The Tigers have Anibal Sanchez (8-7, 4.63) on the mound to face Ubaldo Jimenez (7-4, 2.81) of the Orioles. Oddsmakers have the Tigers as a -120 favorite to win tonight’s game, while the Orioles are getting odds of +110 on the road. The over/under total is listed at 8 runs. These two are meeting for the first time this season. The Tigers have been strong with the over, hitting it in 23 of their last 27 games and in 9 straight at home. Baltimore comes into tonight 6-2 in their last 8 Friday games.
