LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The AL West should be a competitive race down the stretch between its top two teams.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Oakland Athletics are favored to win the West, as they have odds of -220 to win. The Los Angeles Angels have +190 odds to win, while the Seattle Mariners have odds of +1200 to win. The Houston Astros and Texas Rangers are so far out of the race that they don’t even have odds listed.

Oakland is 59-36 on the season, which is the best record in the majors. The Athletics have a 1.5-game lead on the division and are 30-15 at home and 29-21 on the road. Oakland is a 16-time winner of the division and the Athletics have won the last two years.

The Angels are 57-37 on the season, 1.5 games behind the Athletics. Los Angeles is 32-15 at home and 25-22 on the road. Los Angeles is an eight-time winner of the AL West, last winning in 2009.

Seattle is 51-44 overall and 8 games out of first place. The Mariners are 24-26 at home and 27-18 on the road. Seattle is a three-time AL West winner, last winning in 2001.
