ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the American League is a -106 home favorite on the money line versus the National League, who is -102 on the ML. As for the total, it currently sits at 7.5 runs.

LINE MOVEMENT: The American League opened as -105 money line favorites but their odds have jumped to -106, while the National League’s odds have gone from -103 down to -102. The total hasn’t moved since opening at 7.5 runs.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Felix Hernandez was the obvious choice for AL manager John Farrell after he went 8-1 over his last 12 starts and has allowed just two runs or fewer while pitching at least seven innings in his last 11 outings. Mike Matheny had a more difficult challenge for the National League team, as he went with his own ace in Adam Wainwright over the Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw. Wainwright is currently tied for the league lead with 12 wins and has the lowest ERA in all of baseball with a mark of 1.83.

MLB FREE PICK: Take the under. According to latest MLB trends the under has gone a perfect 6-0 since 2008. In each of the past four years, one team has scored one or fewer runs as pitching continues to dominant in the post-steroid era. With so many pitching changes throughout, it’s difficult for hitters to get a feel for what they’re seeing throughout the course of the All-Star game. While the over is bound to hit eventually, taking the under is still a sound betting decision.
