Cincinnati Reds Fantasy Spin
Yasiel Puig went 4-for-6 with a two-run homer and four RBI in the Reds’ blowout win over the Rockies on Saturday. Puig launched a two-run homer — his 21st long ball of the season — off Rockies reliever Jairo Diaz in the sixth inning. He also plated a two-run double in the seventh inning. The 28-year-old outfielder is a notorious slow-starter, but he’s picked it up in recent weeks, going deep 11 times across 31 games since the start of June. He’s hitting .261/.307/.503 with 42 runs scored, 55 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 339 plate appearances
Colorado Rockies Fantasy Spin
Daniel Murphy went 4-for-4 with a solo homer and a pair of runs scored in the Rockies’ loss to the Reds on Saturday. Murphy tattooed an opposite-field solo shot off Reds starter Tanner Roark in the fifth inning. It was his ninth round-tripper of the season. He also doubled in the first, singled in the third, walked in the seventh and finally singled in the ninth to cap off a season-high four-hit performance. The 34-year-old veteran first baseman has gone deep three times in his last four games and is now hitting .295 with 29 runs scored, 47 RBI and one stolen base in 251 plate appearances
