Frazier pays out 11/2 after winning Derby
CINCINNATI, OH (The Spread) – Todd Frazier won the 2015 Home Run Derby in thrilling fashion on Monday night, edging out Dodgers rookie Joc Pederson in the finals.
With 12 seconds remaining in the new format adopted by Major League Baseball this year, Frazier was able to tie Pederson at 14-14 and then beat the rookie on his first swing in bonus time. Frazier beat out Prince Fielder in the first round and Josh Donaldson in the second round with time expiring as well.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Frazier was 11/2 to win the Home Run Derby in the hours leading up to the event. He opened as the favorite to win the Derby but Pederson, Fielder and Albert Pujols all had better odds at 9/2, respectively, heading into the event. Kris Bryant of the Cubs was also 11/2 to win.
The 2015 MLB All-Star Game will take place Tuesday night at 7:30PM ET. The National League is currently -115 money line favorites to win the game over the American League.
