Twins vs. Indians Prediction
The Minnesota Twins put a little more distance between them and the second-place Cleveland Indians last night with a win in the series opener. Can host Cleveland even the series at a game apiece with a victory tonight?

Twins take series opener
Minnesota rallied past host Cleveland Friday night by a score of 5-3 to improve to 57-33 overall and 29-18 on the road. Jorge Polanco helped lead the Twins as he went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and two RBIs. Nelson Cruz ended the game 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk. Mitch Garver finished 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Zack Littell picked up the win in relief as he gave up one hit with one strikeout and one walk over one scoreless frame. Taylor Rogers earned the save as he allowed one hit with three strikeouts over two scoreless innings. Jake Odorizzi draws the start tonight as he enters with a 10-4 record, 3.15 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 96 strikeouts over 88 2/3 innings pitched.
Indians falter late
Cleveland allowed three runs in the seventh inning and one in the eighth Friday night in a 5-3 home loss against Minnesota. Oliver Perez took the loss in relief as he surrendered one earned run on two hits without retiring a batter. Carlos Santana helped lead the offense as he finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Roberto Perez went 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Jose Ramirez was 2-for-4 and scored a run. Trevor Bauer gets the start tonight for the Indians as he comes in with an 8-6 record, 3.61 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 149 strikeouts over 132 innings pitched.
Public Betting Trends
Minnesota
The Twins are 14-2 in their last 16 Saturday games. Minnesota is 12-2 in the last 14 Odorizzi starts.
Cleveland
The Indians are 6-0 in the last six Bauer starts. Cleveland is 5-1 in the last six Saturday games.
Prediction:
Odorizzi hasn’t been good his last four starts and is coming off a short injured list stint due to a blister issue. Bauer has been inconsistent at times this season, but he’s been more good than bad and I like him at home in a big spot. Cleveland needs to win these next two head-to-head games and I think it takes care of business in this one.
