Today’s action starts at 1:20PM ET when the Chicago Cubs (44-37) host the St. Louis Cardinals (54-28). The Cardinals have Tyler Lyons (2-0, 5.09 ERA) on the mound to face Jake Arrieta (8-5, 2.80) of the Cubs. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Cubs are favored at home in this game, as they are getting odds of -145 to win, while the Cardinals have a money line of +135 to win. The over/under total for the contest has yet to be set. The Cardinals have won seven of their last eight against the Cubs this season and these two have hit the under in four of their last five meetings.
Another featured game today has the Minnesota Twins (44-39) hosting the Baltimore Orioles (43-40) at 8:10PM ET. The Orioles have Kevin Gausman (1-0, 3.09) on the mound to face Kyle Gibson (6-6, 3.04) of the Twins. Oddsmakers have the Orioles as the slim favorite to win, as they are getting odds of -110 to win, while the Twins have a money line of +100 to prevail. The over/under total for the game has been set at 8 runs. The Orioles are just 2-7 in the last nine starts for Gausman while the Twins are 8-3-3 with the under in their last 14 home games.
Another game of note has the Seattle Mariners (38-45) hosting the Detroit Tigers (42-40) at 10:10PM ET. The Tigers have Kyle Ryan (1-2, 4.55) on the mound to face Taijuan Walker (7-6, 4.34). Oddsmakers have the Mariners favored to win, as they have odds of -165 to win, while the Tigers have a money line of +150 to win. The over/under total for the game has been set at 7.5 runs. The Tigers have been big with the over, hitting it in 22 of their last 26 games overall and 10 of their last 11 road games. Seattle is just 5-16 in their last 21 games as a favorite.
