San Diego Padres Fantasy Spin
Hunter Renfroe went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in the eighth inning to give the Padres a 3-2 victory on Friday over the Dodgers. With the score tied at 2-2, Renfroe unleashed a solo shot to left field off of Yimi Garcia, and it gave the Padres the lead and victory while giving the outfielder his 26th round-tripper of the season. While he’s still hitting just .246, Renfroe is slugging .609 on the season, and the power production makes him fantasy relevant even if he doesn’t hit for average or draw walks. He’s looking at a 40-homer season at this point.
Los Angeles Dodgers Fantasy Spin
Chris Taylor went 2-for-5 with an RBI on Friday in a loss to the Padres. The Dodgers’ offense couldn’t get much going, but Taylor was able to pick up a pair of knocks and drive in a run, his 41st RBI of the season. The veratilile infielder/outfielder started the year off in a funk, but he’s been exceptional with the bat as of late, and he’s upped his line to .265/.328/.461 over 86 games. Corey Seager will be back soon to take his shortstop spot, but the Dodgers are going to find a way to get Taylor in the lineup.
