Texas Rangers Fantasy Spin
Hunter Pence (groin) is set to begin a minor league rehab assignment on Monday. The plan is for Pence to play one, or possibly two, games in the minor leagues to get his timing back, and then to rejoin the Rangers on Wednesday. He’s still expected to play in the All-Star game as well. The resurgence of the 36-year-old has been a big part of the Rangers’ success this season, as he’s slashing .294/.353/.608 with 15 homers, 48 RBI and three stolen bases in 55 games.
Tampa Bay Rays Fantasy Spin
Willy Adames hit a solo homer against the Rangers in the Rays’ win on Saturday. Adames hit one of two homers in the seventh inning for the Rays, and it was a solo shot off of Peter Fairbanks to extend Tampa Bay’s lead to 4-0. The infielder is now up to 10 homers on the season, and he’s driven in 25 runs over 77 games. There have been ups-and-downs, but his ability to hit for power from the shortstop position make Adames a solid fantasy option, and he should continue to get better considering he doesn’t turn 24 until September.
MLB Betting Trends
Texas
The Rangers are 6-1 in their last seven games overall and have won four out of their last five road games.
Tampa Bay
The Rays are winless in their last six games following a win.
Prediction:
The over is 4-0-1 in Blake Snell’s last five home starts and is 4-1-1 in his last six outings overall. The over is also 5-1 in Snell’s last six starts when their opponent allows five runs or more in their previous game and is 6-2-3 in the Rays’ last 11 home games versus an opponent with a winning record.
