Los Angeles Dodgers Fantasy Spin
Alex Verdugo went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in the Dodgers’ loss to the Rockies on Saturday. Verdugo has been blistering-hot at the plate recently, recording at least one hit in 15 of his last 18 games since June 18. The 23-year-old outfielder singled and scored in the opening frame, singles in the fifth and singled in the seventh to record his fifth three-hit performance of the year. He’s hitting .311 with 32 runs scored, nine homers, 37 RBI and four stolen bases in 277 plate appearances.
Colorado Rockies Fantasy Spin
Charlie Blackmon went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer and a pair of runs scored to power the Rockies to a 5-3 victory over the Dodgers on Saturday. Blackmon slugged a go-ahead, two-run homer — his 19th round-tripper of the season — off Dodgers lefty Clayton Kershaw in the third inning. It was the Rockies lone exta-base hit of the contest. The 32-year-old outfielder has been on an absolute tear at the plate, hitting .408 (38-for-93) with 28 runs scored, 18 extra-base hits (nine home runs) and 23 RBI in 21 games since coming off the injured list back on June 8. Blackmon has a realistic shot at eclipsing the 30-homer plateau for the second time in his career and remains an elite five-category fantasy superstar.
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Dodgers are 1-6 in Kenta Maeda’s last seven road starts.
Colrado
The Rockies are 19-7 in their last 26 home games.
Prediction:
The under is 7-2-1 in Maeda’s last 10 starts versus the Rockies and is 3-0-2 in his last five starts overall. The under is also 9-3 in his last 12 outings when their opponent scores five runs or more in their previous game. The total today has been inflated and while these two teams can certainly combine to score enough runs to cash the over, the under has more value.
Sunday MLB Prediction: Dodgers/Rockies UNDER 13.5
