Rays vs. Orioles Free Pick
BALTIMORE, MD (The Spread) – Bettors should take notice of the over in Game 2 tonight between the Rays and Orioles at 7:05PM ET, as the contest should be high-scoring.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Orioles are -119 money line home favorites for tonight’s game versus the Rays, who are +110 money line underdogs. The total is currently sitting at 8.5.
There hasn’t been a ton of line movement for this game although the Rays have gone from +114 down to +107, while the Orioles’ odds have gone from -123 down to -116. The total hasn’t budged since opening at 8.5.
The youngster Jake Odorizzi will take the hill for the Rays and has pitched very well over his last few starts, although he’s 3-7 on the year with a 4.29 ERA. He’s only allowed three runs over 20 innings combined with going 1-1 over his last three games but is the 24-year-old due for a shaky start?
On the other side the Orioles will counter with Chris Tillman, who is 6-4 with a 4.45 ERA on the year. He pitched seven scoreless innings to beat the Yankees and end a three-game winless streak in his start last weekend and he’s 2-6 in 12 career starts with a 4.86 ERA versus the Rays.
MLB FREE PICK: Take the over. According to latest MLB trends, the over is 5-1 in the Rays’ last six games duing Game 2 of a series and 38-18-3 in their last 59 games versus a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. The over is also 7-1 in the Orioles’ last eight games during the second game of a double header and 16-7 in their last 23 games with the total set at 7.0-8.5. As previously mentioned, Odorizzi is due for a bad start and Tillman is due for a market correction after his last start, too. There should be plenty of runs scored tonight.
FRIDAY MLB FREE PICK: RAYS/ORIOLES OVER 8.5
