Los Angeles Angels Fantasy Spin
Albert Pujols hit a solo homer in the Angels’ loss to the Cardinals on Saturday. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Pujols go deep in St. Louis, but it was a familiar feeling to see the future Hall of Famer drive a ball into the left-field bleachers off of Dakota Hudson. He now has 13 homers on the year along with 41 RBI, and he’s slashing .233/.308/.449 in his 63 games.
St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin
Paul Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with a run scored on Saturday to help the Cardinals defeat the Angels. Goldschmidt came around to score his run on the Marcell Ozuna homer. The first baseman is starting to swing the bat better after his ugly beginning — and middle — of June, but his .260/.349/.432 line with 14 homers and 31 RBI are not the numbers we were expecting at this point from the first baseman. Goldschmidt is just too good for him to not be better in the second half of the season.
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Angels are 9-3 in Tyler Skaggs’ last 12 road starts versus a team with a winning record.
St. Louis
The Cardinals have won five of their last seven games overall and are 12-4 in Miles Mikloas’ last 16 home starts.
Prediction:
The under is 3-0-1 in Skaggs’ last four road starts and is 12-3-2 in his last 17 outings overall. The under is also 24-6-2 in the Angels’ last 32 interleague games versus an opponent with a winning record and is 13-2-1 in their last 16 interleague road games versus an opponent with a winning record. On the other side, the under has cashed in 12 of the Cardinals’ last 14 home games and is 8-1 in Mikolas’ last nine starts.
Sunday MLB Prediction: Angels/Cardinals UNDER 9
