LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) - Here's a look at the daily odds for Saturday's action in Major League Baseball.
We'll start with some of the the hottest teams in baseball at the moment, as the Phillies have won five straight and the Yankees and A's have both won four straight. After taking the first two games in St. Louis, Philadelphia will try to make it three in a row today when it visits the Cardinals (-159) as a +146 money line underdog. The pitching matchup for this game is set to be Cole Hamels versus Adam Wainwright.
The Yankees kick off all action today when the host the Orioles at 1:05PM ET. With Vidal Nuno set to face Bud Norris in the pitching matchup, the Bombers are -115 money line favorites over the Orioles, who are +106. The A's, meanwhile, are -151 money line favorites with Jesse Chavez on the mound versus Rubby De La Rosa and the Red Sox, who are +139. First pitch for the Boston-Oakland matchup is 4:05PM ET.
From cold to hot: the Giants have the worst losing streak in the majors right now at six. They've lost nine of their last 10 and have seen their lead over the Dodgers in the NL West shrink to four games. San Francisco will try to get back on track tonight in Arizona as a +104 money line underdog and Ryan Vogelsong on the hill facing Brandon McCarthy. The D-Backs are currently -113 money line favorites according to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI.
While we're out west, the Rockies are struggling as well. Losers of four in a row, Colorado hosts Milwaukee today as a +118 home underdog. Christian Friedrich will take the mound versus Wily Peralta and the Brewers, who are -128 money line favorites. The Brewers have won seven of their last 10 games and have opened up a 5.5-game lead over the Cardinals in the NL Central.
