Red Sox, O’s continue top-notch set at Fenway
Tuesday’s series opener between the Orioles and Red Sox had a distinct playoff feel. What will the American League East’s top two squads pull out of the bag for tonight’s crowd at Fenway Park?
Baltimore, coming off a 3-2 victory, hopes to build on a slim lead over Boston beginning at 7:10 p.m. ET. According to oddsmakers at online sports book BetDSI, however, John Farrell’s club deserves the benefit of the doubt. The visiting O’s are labeled as +130 underdogs, while the over/under run total rests at 9.5.
Bet on This Evening’s MLB Contests
Manager Buck Showalter asks a lot of young righty Tyler Wilson (2-5, 4.73 ERA) here. The second-year hurler boasts a 2.79 ERA across multiple assignments against the Orioles’ division rival, though, having posted an especially strong performance in Beantown on April 13. Most recently, Wilson yielded five runs and seven hits to the Blue Jays.
The Virginia native’s counterpart is a fierce one. Steven Wright (7-4, 2.09) could be on his way to the 87th MLB All-Star Game, actually, limiting opponents to a .203 average. He’s also 1-0 with a 1.84 ERA in three career turns vs. the O’s.

We don’t anticipate Wright’s fourth complete game of the campaign, but it’s hard to quibble with his chances shortly. After all, Baltimore’s active batters hold a collective .086 lifetime mark in meetings with the knuckleballer. Let him burnish those Midsummer Classic credentials even further.
