Mariners vs. Twins Pick
Can the Seattle Mariners and the Minnesota Twins put up another big run total when the two meet up again tonight at 8:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Twins are favored in today’s game, as they are getting odds of -135 to win, while the Mariners are getting a money line of +125 to prevail. The over/under total for the game is set at 10.5 runs.

The pitching matchup tonight has Ervin Santana (8-3, 2.20 ERA) on the mound for the Twins to face Sam Gaviglio (2-1, 2.79) of the Mariners. Gaviglio has limited starts this year, but has had back-to-back good outings, allowing just two earned runs over 11 innings. On the season he has 19 strikeouts with eight walks and a 1.21 WHIP. Santana is coming off a complete-game shutout last week in San Francisco, but he hasn’t followed that with good outings typically. His last three starts after shutouts have seen him allow 13 runs over 20 innings. This season, Santana has 63 strikeouts with 33 walks over 90 innings. His WHIP is 0.89.
Each team has a win in this series, each scoring a large amount of runs in the process. On Monday, Seattle got a 14-3 win, but the Twins followed that up with a 20-7 victory on Tuesday night. Minnesota is 33-28 overall, 13-19 at home and 29-27 with the over. Seattle comes into this game 32-34 overall, 12-21 on the road and 32-32 with the over/under total.
The Twins hammered the Mariners in Tuesday’s game, racking up 28 hits and five home runs in the win. The 4-9 spots in the lineup combined for 22 hits and 17 RBI. Eddie Rosario had three home runs and finished with five RBI for the Twins while Jason Castro had four hits and four RBI. Seattle still had a respectable day the plate as well, putting up seven runs on 14 hits. Nelson Cruz drove in another two runs on two hits. He has 52 RBI on the season.
Hitting can be contagious and we have seen that in this series for both teams. While the pitching matchup is better on paper than the previous days, I think the strong hitting will continue. Santana hasn’t been able to follow up his shutouts with another great performance and Gaviglio isn’t getting deep into games, forcing a weakened Seattle bullpen into the mix. The total is high, but I think these two will stay hot.
