Rockies vs. Pirates Prediction
Will the Rockies avoid being swept by the Pirates in Pittsburgh when the teams meet again tonight at 7:05PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Rockies are -120 money line favorites versus the Pirates, who have odds of +100 to pull off the small upset at home. With German Marquez set to face Chad Kuhl in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8.5 runs, down from the original number of 9.

From Rotoworld: Marquez gave up two runs — one earned — over just three innings in a no-decision in Friday’s 5-3 win over the Cubs. Marquez’s command was hit-or-miss to say the least in this one. He walked three batters and also hit one, but he managed to evade some more extensive damage with five strikeouts and just two singles allowed. The showing pales in comparison to the eight shutout innings he had against the Cubs at Coors Field last month.
Kuhl gave up one run in five innings but did not earn a decision during Wednesday’s extra-inning loss to the Orioles. He struck out four batters and gave up just four hits but struggled to throw strikes and issued four walks. The one run he allowed came home on a sacrifice fly by Hyun-Soo Kim in the second inning. He left the contest with a 4-1 lead that was blown late in the game by the bullpen. Kuhl has a 1-5 record with a 5.63 ERA in 12 starts.
Bet Tonight’s Rockies vs. Pirates Game
OUR PREDICTION: No offense to a Pirates team that has struggled but remains competitive, the Rockies are too good to be swept in Pittsburgh. They’re 7-3 in their last 10 games overall despite struggling recently, and are 5-1 in Marquez’s last six starts. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, is just 1-5 in Kuhl’s last six starts, is 1-10 in his last 11 outings versus a team with a winning record, and is 3-7 in his last 10 home starts. I’m buying Colorado at a low price.
