MLB FREE PICK: Take Los Angeles. According to latest MLB trends, Atlanta is 1-5 last 6 as a dog and 2-5 last 7 Friday games. LA Dodgers are 8-3 last 11 as a favorite, 5-1 last 6 home games and 5-0 in Ryu's last 5 starts as a favorite.

The Atlanta Braves (37-23, 16-16 away, 33-26 O/U) continue to play ordinary baseball on the road, while the Dodgers (26-33, 17-16 home, 31-25 O/U) have won three of their last four. The Dodgers have gotten a huge lift from Cuban star Yasiel Puig, who was just called up this week. The 22-year old is 7-for-16 with three home runs and nine RBIs in just four games. He also hit a Grand Slam against the Braves in the opening game of the series.  They also got a strong performance (finally) from Zack Greinke, who hurled seven strong innings on Thursday night. Atlanta sends LHP Paul Maholm (7-4, 3.66 ERA) to the mound against LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu (6-2, 2.89 ERA). The Braves hit just .228 against lefties, while the Dodgers hit .270. Ryu last pitched on May 28 when he tossed a two-hit shutout against the Angels. He sat out his last start with a bruised foot but is fine to pitch. The Braves visit Dodger Stadium for Game 2 of this NL West series at 10:10pmET on Friday night.
