Gallardo was hammered for 10 runs – nine earned – and nine hits with two walks and four strikeouts over 3 2/3 innings in a loss against the White Sox on Saturday. Gallardo’s ERA mushroomed from 4.53 to 5.84 as a result of the awful outing. He hasn’t been terribly reliable at home this season, going 0-2 with a 7.00 ERA across five starts at Safeco Field. Homers have done him in lately, as he has served up four homers over his past 10 innings after yielding just three long balls through his first 39 1/3 frames. (Rotoworld)
Rodriguez surrendered three runs on six hits over eight innings in Sunday’s win over the A’s. Rodriguez struck out eight and walked one in the contest. He gave up an RBI single to Josh Phegley in the second inning and a two-run home run to Chad Pinder in the fourth, but settled in to toss up goose eggs over his final four innings of work. The southpaw will bring a 3.10 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 55/18 K/BB ratio (49 1/3 innings) into a home start tonight.
