The Tigers seem to finally be moving toward being the team some expected them to. They have won seven of their last eight to get to the .500 mark. Tonight they have Verlander on the mound, who has been red-hot since a slow start to the season. He has a 1.61 ERA over his last three starts and has looked like the Verlander of old. Hellickson has been very solid for the Phillies as well, posting a 2.45 ERA over his last three, but the Tigers have the better lineup and are really pounding the ball lately. Look for Detroit to remain strong.
