Ramirez pitched seven innings of two-run ball Tuesday against the White Sox. Ramirez left with a three-run lead, but he was denied a win after David Hernandez blew the save in the ninth. Ramirez struck out just two in this one. He fanned 25 batters over 17 2/3 innings in his final three starts of April, but he’s totaled eight strikeouts in 20 innings this month. He’s been effective in two of his three starts anyway, but he’s going to have to get that strikeout rate back up. (Rotoworld)
Odorizzi was charged with four runs over six innings in Tuesday’s 6-4 victory over the Indians. It looked like he was going to cruise to a fourth straight terrific start since returning from the disabled list, but Odorizzi ran into trouble in the sixth with back-to-back singles, an RBI groundout and then a two-run homer by Edwin Encarnacion. He struck out five with just one walk, though, and now boasts a 21/4 K/BB ratio over 24 frames since coming back from a hamstring injury
