Yankees vs. Athletics Total Pick
Two big names are on the mound when the New York Yankees face the Oakland Athletics tonight at 9:35PM ET. Will the runs be at a premium?
The Yankees have C.C. Sabathia on the mound tonight to face Sonny Gray of the Athletics. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Athletics are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -120 to win, while the Yankees have odds of +110 to win. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 7.5 runs.
New York is 18-22 overall, 6-12 on the road and 19-17-4 with the under. Oakland is 19-23 overall, 8-12 at home and 21-19-2 with the over. The road team has won all four meetings between these teams this year, including a 4-1 win for New York on Thursday night. These two have hit the under in three of four meetings as well.

Neither team is exactly lighting the world on fire at the plate, but the total is awfully low for this game considering Gray has a 9.37 ERA over his last three starts alone. This year hasn’t been kind to him. While Sabathia has been better than many may have expected, putting up a 3.81 ERA, he still is putting 1.5 batters on per inning. That is likely to lead to some runs as New York lights up Gray. Look for these two to hit the over.
