Will Dodgers snag second straight from Halos?
The Angels’ four-game winning streak was fun while it lasted. Clayton Kershaw brought the Halos back down to earth yesterday, though, with a four-hit gem.
Tonight in Anaheim, the Freeway Series battle for supremacy continues. Mike Bolsinger and Nick Tropeano clash at 10:05 p.m. ET, with oddsmakers at online sports book BetDSI giving the host squad the benefit of the doubt. The third-place Dodgers enter as -105 underdogs.
As per usual, Kershaw hardly looked human about 20 hours ago. Mike Scioscia received an RBI single from outfielder Shane Robinson, and that was the extent of the damage against the all-world southpaw. The Dodgers would be tickled with just several frames of dominance from Bolsinger, making his season debut after missing more than a month due to oblique concerns. He went 6-6 with a 3.62 ERA in 21 appearances in 2015.
On the flip side, the Angels have a pretty good idea of what to expect from Tropeano (1-2, 3.68 ERA). The 25-year-old has permitted two or fewer runs in five of seven assignments. A problem, however, lurks just below the surface: efficiency. Tropeano’s yet to finish six innings, averaging just 97.4 pitches per contest. He yielded two runs in a no-decision at Seattle on Friday.

We can’t quite recommend the Halos in good faith, primarily because of their lineup uncertainty beyond Mike Trout. In a tilt that seems destined to boil down to the bullpens, lead toward the Dodgers. They’re fresh, amped-up and boast a litany of veterans who aren’t afraid to work the count.
