From Rotoworld: Milone allowed two earned runs over five innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Giants. San Francisco mounted a ninth-inning comeback against Mets closer Jeurys Familia to steal the afternoon victory. Milone walked two and gave up six hits, including a solo home run to Buster Posey in the top of the second inning. The lefty struck out five.
Greinke was on his game in Thursday’s 2-1 win over the Pirates, firing off eight innings of shutout ball while striking out 11. He did not allow a hit until the eighth inning, when Gregory Polanco finally slowed his roll with a solo home run to lead off the frame. Prior to that, only a Jordy Mercer walk had blemished his time on the mound. This was his second game of double-digit strikeouts in eight starts. After posting an unimpressive 4.37 ERA and 1.27 WHIP last season, the veteran right-hander has bounced back with a 2.79 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 58/9 K/BB ratio across 51 2/3 innings. He will look to continue this splendid season in a home start against the Mets next time he toes the rubber.
