Cincinnati Reds Fantasy Spin
Jesse Winker homered off Edwin Diaz in the top of the ninth to propel the Reds to a 5-4 win over the Mets on Monday. It was Winker’s eight homer in 88 at-bats this season, overtaking his total of seven from 121 at-bats in 2017 and seven in 281 at-bats last season. He’s been a disappointment from an OBP perspective this year, but that’s only a problem if the homers stop coming.
New York Mets Fantasy Spin
Todd Frazier went 0-for-5 and struck out twice Monday against the Reds. Frazier has been starting since coming off the IL and he hit a grand slam in his second game back, but he wouldn’t seem to be a part of the Mets’ best lineup once Jed Lowrie returns and perhaps even not now. He has a couple of weeks to show what he can do, though.
MLB Betting Trends
Cincinnati
The Reds are just 7-21 in their last 27 games versus the Mets.
New York
The Mets are 13-4 in their last 17 games versus the Reds at Citi Field.
Prediction:
I like the Mets on Monday night with Zack Wheeler on the hill versus Tanner Roark but the Reds jumped Wheeler early and then still produced a win despite blowing a 4-1 lead. I love Cincinnati on Tuesday night. Luis Castillo is quietly becoming one of the better young arms in baseball and the Reds are 5-2 in his last seven starts versus an opponent with a winning record. Meanwhile, this Cincinnati offense might finally be heating up and the Reds lineup gets a great matchup versus gas can Jason Vargas.
The Pick: Cincinnati Reds -141
