Blue Jays vs. Cards Game 2 Prediction
Will the Blue Jays pull off the upset in Game 2 of their double-header versus the Cardinals tonight at 6:15PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cardinals are -160 money line favorites versus the Blue Jays, who have odds of +144 to pull off the upset in St. Louis tonight. With Casey Lawrence set to face Adam Wainwright in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8.5 runs.

Lawrence allowed five runs, four earned, and eight hits with three walks and four strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings of work last Saturday in a loss to the Angels. He’s receiving a chance to fill in for the injured J.A. Happ (elbow), but he’s off to a poor start. Lawrence owns a 7.56 ERA over 8 1/3 combined innings to start the season.
Wainwright allowed two runs over five innings in a 6-3 win over the Brewers last Friday. He also had a home run and a two-run single in the victory. He improved his ERA to 6.27 in what was his best outing of the season. He’s not going deep into games, but his curveball looked sharp and he was missing more bats, which was encouraged.
Bet Today’s Blue Jays vs. Cardinals Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Cardinals are 44-20 in Wainwright’s last 64 starts at home and 39-13 in his last 52 outings when facing a team with a losing record. The Cards have also won six of their last eight games overall while the Blue Jays are just 7-18 in their last 25 games. Wainwright hasn’t looked great, but he’s a better option than Lawrence. I’ll roll the dice and take the chance that Wainwright builds off of his performance last weekend in Milwaukee.
