Anthony DeSclafani spun six innings of one-run ball in a no-decision against the Marlins on Friday. While DeScalfani took the no-decision in an eventual loss for the Giants, he continues to pitch extremely well. He limited the Marlins to just four hits, with the lone run scoring a homer off the bat of Jazz Chisholm Jr. He fanned four and walked none before being pulled at 87 pitches. It would be nice to see DeSclafani get some more whiffs — he had just six of them on Friday — but that’s a minor critique in a great outing. He’ll carry a sterling 1.06 ERA into a start against the Phillies next week and should be rostered in mixed fantasy leagues at this point.
Philadelphia Phillies DFS Spin
Zach Eflin pitched seven innings of two-run ball to beat the Cardinals on Friday. After being staked to a six-run lead early, Eflin allowed six hits, walked none and struck out six in an easy dub. He’s 1-0 with a 3.15 ERA after three starts, and he should be a perfectly fine fourth starter in mixed leagues going forward. Next up for him is a home start against the Giants.
