Roark is 2-0 after allowing two runs on four hits last Saturday in a 4-2 Nationals’ loss to the Phillies. He struck out three during his seven innings of work and also accounted for half of the team’s hits on the day, going 2-for-2 with a double. Roark owns a 3.50 ERA and a 0.94 WHIP over three starts in 2017.
deGrom allowed two runs on four hits in a no-decision last Saturday against the Marlins. He struck out 13 batters over seven innings but back-to-back solo home runs to Justin Bour and Marcell Ozuna in the second inning hurt. He owns a 1.98 ERA and a 22:4 strikeout-to-walk ratio through three starts. He’s still looking for his first decision, however.
Bet Tonight’s Nationals vs. Mets Game
OUR PICK: Based on how poorly the Mets played defensively last night and how banged up they now are, it’s tempting to grab the Nationals will plus odds. That said, the Mets are a perfect 4-0 in deGrom’s last four starts against the Nats and are 10-4 in his last 14 home outings when facing a team with a winning record. The Mets have also won seven of deGrom’s last 10 outings following a Quality Start in his last appearance.
