Kansas City Royals Fantasy Spin
Alex Gordon went 1-for-3 with an RBI double and a walk against the Yankees on Friday. He tried to make a game of things with his double in the sixth, but the Royals couldn’t get any closer. Gordon has hit safely in six straight games and owns an impressive .329/.417/.571 batting line with three homers, 17 RBI, and 13 runs scored through his first 19 games this season. While he hasn’t stolen any bases yet, his unexpected resurgence at the plate has come in handy for fantasy owners.
New York Yankees Fantasy Spin
Brett Gardner slugged a two-run homer, drew a walk, and stole a base Friday against the Royals. After popping a go-ahead grand slam against the Red Sox on Wednesday, Gardner was back at it again on Friday with a go-ahead blast against Jake Junis in the third inning. He’s now up to five homers on the year, with four of them coming over his last eight games. The 35-year-old is batting .200/.309/.457 overall, but he’s still worthy of attention in mixed leagues as New York’s leadoff hitter

New York
The Yankees have won 47 of their last 65 meetings with the Royals in New York.
Prediction:
The Yankees have been so inconsistent offensively that I hesitate to take the over when it comes to either their matchup, or their team total. That said, Fillmyer could get destroyed this afternoon. He has a 9.00 ERA over two starts and the wind is expected to blow out at Yankee Stadium this afternoon. While depleted, New York still boasts plenty of good bats, from Aaron Judge to Gleyber Torres to youngster Clint Frazier. Despite the high number, we get some value with the Yankees’ team total today.
The Pick: New York Yankees Team Total OVER 5.5 Runs (+120)
